Thanks for all your support
you were awesome!
Facebook Blog
So it's done, seams rather surreal now, think we must have been in the zone!
I can vividly remember all the legs, but on reflection I don't think we can have cycled that far each day..
We are busily collecting in all the sponsorship so we can send that off ASAP
your never too late to add to the charities pot.
I've also spend a lot of time putting together a DVD of our trip.
It's not there yet, school work has taken over, but it's not far off.
Another couple of nights at the screen to the wee hours will see it there & it will be free to all those who sponsored us & available at a minute charge to those who did not. £2 inc. postage, which will all go in the charities pot.
It's long.......... but so was the trip, so no apologies there. Just view each day/leg on a different evening, over 15 days would be a fair representation of the jaunt.
& if like me you get caught up in the challenge (when I watched Eddie Izzard) I ended up making a small donation each time I watched one of his documentaries. You might be moved to do the same for:
Children's Hospice SW & Shelter Box.
I have played with saving the log onto the web site from Facebook.
It's not going to be easy, but I will do it.
You can see all our photos here

My knee is complaining about the trip, quite impressive, I'll save you the photos, but unfortunately self inflicted 15 days of 8hrs in the saddle & no stretching of those muscles is not good. My knee cap has been pulled across to rub on my bone & the knee does not appreciate this. Still should be short term.
Thanks for all the wonderful donations, awesome!
Hi Folks
It's great you've taken a look at what we are up to.
Business can sponsor us & get their logo up on the page here & a link to their website. We'll put their logo on our bike panniers & T-shirts.
This is a very early incarnation of our little web site.
Initially to promote our 'End 2 End' challenge
27th July to 12th August 2010
Keri & John are raising funds for 'ShelterBox' & 'Children's Hospice SW'

We are still working on the route......aaah, the constraint is the 14 day cycling window, we have given ourselves. Within that time frame we would like to take the most scenic & rural route possible.
Well the route is finished.
The red line on the map above & the horible map below is right...
But the legs are not as equal as I would like. The penultamute day is only 6hrs, but it's a lot of work to balance them out. Change one & all those after that day, get changed. It's fun, but time consuming.
Booked the first 4 B&B's, just got 11 to go.....
so we are getting there.....
We are working on 8 hours in the saddle each day, 10mph & adding ½ min for each 10m climbed. So on a totally flat day, we should cover 80 miles.
This sort of fits in with the training rides we have done & seams possible.
We plan to pre-book all the B&Bs, PUBs & Inns we are staying at. But I can't do that until the route is finalised.
My favorite route took us down the West coast of Scotland, across to Ireland & down their West Coast into Pembrookshire & on. But that was 1200 miles + & would take us 3 weeks, so our plan 'B' took us across the ceiling of Scotland, furthest N tip 'Dunnet Head' then to the furthest NW tip 'CapeWrath', but that adds a hard days ride going West & the last 10miles are off road along a track & of course then 12miles back to the roads again. It would be awesome. But another time....
The quietest route is 861miles & the record stands at 1 day, 20hrs & 4 mins. That wont be us, think of all the pubs he missed.
Our current route is about 1000 miles, takes as to the furthest Northerly point in the UK 'Dunnet Head', then West for a while along stunning sandy beaches (so the books say!), before heading along a remote valley for 35miles, where they say, you have the best chance of seeing a Golden Eagle. Cool! I recon a couple of cyclists constitute 'meals on wheels' for a Golden Eagle, keep your eye out in the papers.
Then via a ferry to hug the coast to inverness, down the great locks, but of course along the forest trails & canal paths, almost into Oban (been there, quite happy to cycle a green lane & miss it!) down that funny finger pointing to Ireland (along Loch Fyne), across the ferry to the Isle of Arran, good place to see Sea Otters, so they say, lets hope so & a ferry to Ardrossan.
There is then a tough bit through the Southern Uplands, too many A roads, before cutting back to Carlise. That's quite a detour around Scotland, but it's the bit we are looking forward to most. Lets hope the weather lets us see it!
Through the middle of the Lakes, past Lake; Thirlmere, Grasmere, Esthwater & across the ferry at Windermere. All nice quite roads, could be good....
Then mostly canal paths & unclassified roads down past Lancaster & on to Warrington.
Across to Chester, lots of quite roads, before joining up with the Wye valley & following the river down to the Severn Estuary.
Over Brunells Bridge in Bristol, Wells, Glastonbury, Bridgwater (trying to miss as many hills as possible, the South West is the hardest bit!). Taunton, Willand, Credition (too close to home!), South Zeal, Okehampton, past Roadford Lake & onto Launceston. Still staying on mostly unclassified roads all the way.
From Launceston we make a b-line for the Atlantic coast at Delabole & then a weaving, bobbing & climbing/falling route, sticking to as minor roads as possible & as close to the coast as we dare to Lands End.
Then we've got a 10k cross-country race at Budleigh Salerton, 4 days latter.
The Great North ½ marathon in October, before our next big challenge.
6 Coastal Marathons in 6 months. Endurance Life Trail Series.
I can't wait. & If I ever want to get on a bike again, we have our eyes set on an End 2 End in Ireland next year, with the younger kids in tow, literally.
I'd better leave the web design for the mo. & finish planning the route, so I get our beds booked!
