Jenner's Expedition Having a lovely ride this morning. Sat in Hayle at the mo. Lots of lanes & sea views. Adrenalin flowing, end in sight. Keri decided last night she could probably finish it......... Positive mental attitude......

Jess Di-Drake Best nearly there woot , good luck for the rest of the journey

Jenner's Expedition Wow, we've had a wet ride to Polzeath, blowing a hooley, who's idea was it, to do it the wrong way round? Then the fog came down, was actually a lot of fun, except the short main road sections. Your happy to wear the brightest clothes money can buy. Then bright sunshine at Rock & the ferry awesome!

Jenner's Expedition Steve & Steff Smith just sponsored us in the Caffe in Launston, been a bit damp this morning, but easy cycling for Devon

Jenner's Expedition Started ride with Cyclemeter at 08:10, on E2E Day 14 route, see http://j.mp/dkjUv6, Cyclemeter will speak your messages and comments to me.

Jenner's Expedition We had sunshine, misty rain, drizzle & a heavy down pour, within 30mins when cycling past Whiddon Down

Jenner's Expedition Had a lovely meal with the older girls & James, really nice. Found dodge photo on camera! Don't ask

Keri Jenner Okehampton! Think it must be the first time looked forward to arriving here!!

Jenner's Expedition Nice easy morning trundling along the canal path, not too fast as the paths are rough, the Tarmac sections are worse than the gravel!

Jenner's Expedition Our morning response to hi has gone from; I, to II to watch were your going you daft idiot (think he was Yorkshire lad. They call it the way they see it), you could not interpret what they were saying in mid Wales! to hi & now good morning (very proper in N Somerset)

Jenner's Expedition
Cycling through Preston was good fun, it was!
Did
a short canal section, fab; people had made a real effort with their
back gardens; pirates of the carribean, bermuda bar, chickens, a boat as
a sun canopy to name just a few ideas we saw

Jenner's Expedition Got suckered onto the canal path at Lancaster ; started with a lovely tarmaced path, just dodge the dogs & owners. Lots of boats & the old canal industry, lovely, then a good gravel path, then a rough gravel path, then a very rough

Jenner's Expedition Sat in a huge, huge cafe, next to a lovely gravely, bubbling stream, grass running down to it, trees & Fields disappearing in the distance. We are eating the most anazing cakes. The cafe had floor to ceiling glazed Walls, a lovely outside seating area with funky wicker seats.

Jenner's Expedition Ahhhh... Technology, just lost the update I wrote!

Jenner's Expedition Satmap came up trumps, loan gps waiting for me at the B&B last night, with my route & maps loaded. First class service. Shame the unit is little more than splash proof. I'll have to put a plastic bag over it, next time it rains. We've had the garmin out in a rib, waving breaking over it, when we used to scuba dive. It ...does not skip a beat. But it dies not OS mapping on it

Jenner's Expedition Garlic; you could smell wild garlic when we dropped of the hills in Galloway, that put their season 2 months behind ours!

Jenner's Expedition Andy in Bike Tech, Ambleside. Was the man yesterday. Fixed a new bottom bracket, on the spot. You should have see the water that came out the bottom of the bike. Refused to charge mr any money for labour

Lorna Williams I went out on my new bike tonight, managed 30 minutes !!!! Just getting back into exercise after 25yrs of none. Don't think once a week of BMF is cutting the mustard, still got the lazy gene im afraid unlike John & Keri

Jenner's Expedition Fruit, it was really difficult to buy fruit in Scotland, especially bananas, until we came out of Galloway. Raspberries galore in the hedge rows.

Jenner's Expedition Having a cracking cycle through the lakes, really nice, tiny roads, hugging the contours as they curve round the hills. Not seen many happy faces..... Cycled through a flock of sheep as the shepherd was taking them up the fell really nice. About to cycle around the first of many lakes, can't wait, weather typical Lake District!

Jenner's Expedition Back in England, my steak is a fraction of the size we've got used to :-(

Jenner's Expedition
Bikes starting to show ware & tear, bottom bracket is got lots of play, peddle bearings are starting to go.
Changed
my seat for a harder one! Might not be the best idea, got a pain behind
my right knee, which I think is due to the saddle being too far
forward, even though it's as far back as it will go!

Jenner's Expedition Finished ride with Cyclemeter, on E2E Day 7 route, time 8:33:33, 95.93 km, 11.21 average.

Jenner's Expedition Spilt a take away coffee last night, scolded bits that should not get scolded, jumping about holding my shorts, a good Scotish jig...

Jenner's Expedition Lots of BIG women in Dumfries, think Italian Job big! Remember the computer programmers ladies!

Jenner's Expedition The moor is like a monenatey devide, this side is rolling in it. Saw 2 new silver range rovers reg. Y7GUN & Y17GUN, farther & son, looked a bit silly them following each other around in their respective cars. The pub we stayed was a gastro pub, but no food on Mondays!

Jenner's Expedition Saw 4 Belted Galloway today, were are they all? We are in Galloway!

Jenner's Expedition Dalmelington, enough said, came out of the town & thought me must be on the wrong road it had changed so much. Peddling up a narrow gorge on open moor land & it just kept getting better, more & more remote

Keri Jenner Civilisaton at last!!! Having a coffee ( and cake of course!) in costa in Dumfries. Heaven (well, almost!!) ;-)

Keri Jenner Me thinks I got my appetite back! About time too!!!! :-)

Jenner's Expedition Made record time. Reached the Inn at 4:30, steak house adjoining, no guessing what's on the menu tonight

Jenner's Expedition Wow, it's been a bit of an eye opener today & last night. Ever since we left Arran down to Galloway, so poor, the towns & villages are more like war zones. Eyes down, peddles like steam hammers. Once we got onto the moorland of Galloway, lovely. One of the remotest roads we've been on. Really nice

Keri Jenner Wow.. Our earliest finish yet!!!

Jenner's Expedition Finished ride with Cyclemeter, on E2E Day 5 route, time 7:45:07, 101.67 km, 13.12 average.

Jenner's Expedition Hellen the B&B host last night, awesome cook, cakes galore. Sponsored us to. Thanks Hellen & Rambo the poodle. Rambo & Tess would have a wail of a time together. Might even where them out, might!

Jenner's Expedition Decided to push on. Taking the ferry to Ardrosooan, otherwise the ferry would not get in tomorrow until 9:30, which would put 10miles behind on our normal day. Weather fantastic, or was until a rain drop just found me. Arran rocks! Especially the Western coast

Jenner's Expedition Arran Graphics home of the Isle of Arran Monopoly, just bought the girls some smellies. Just Sponsored us. Awesome & thanks.

Jenner's Expedition Feet still wet from yesterday, rather smelly! Too close to my nose...

Jenner's Expedition The landlady had a little 15mth old puddle called Rambo. Loads of life, quite a caricter Looking forward to the ferry in a mo. It does not go v.frequently. Hoping to catch the 12:35, 10 miles & a good climb ahead first!

Jenner's Expedition Looking forward to the ferry in a mo. It does not go v.frequently. Hoping to catch the 12:35, 10 miles & a good climb ahead first!

Jenner's Expedition Yesterday the morning was spent cycling along the coast. But the road margin was Densely wooded & we could not see the sea. When we got a glimpse, just water. The afternoon was v.different, lovely sea lochs. This morning has been similar, cycling along a sea loch with islands & fish farms galore.

Jenner's Expedition Sat in Talbot. Lovely harbour town. Been v.easy cycling this morning, could actually sea the sea, started v.wet, but nice now.

Jenner's Expedition SatMap gps packed up. So much for a weather proof design. Water ingress on a grand scale. Thought it might fire up when dried out, but think it's fried it's self. Navigating of maps & keri's trusty Garmin GPS. that one is bomb proof.

Jenner's Expedition Yesterday the weather improved, even had sun for the last hour or 2. Some good alpine style climbs, lots of switch backs & cracking views of the many sea lochs. The roads over the top were good, when you get up there, no houses/farms, just wilderness. You become acutely aware of watersheds & which way the streams run. ...You then have an idea if the climb is finished or not.

Keri Jenner In talybont(?) coffee and cake time again...!!! On way to catch ferry to Arran. Surprised legs still working!

Jenner's Expedition Continued ride with Cyclemeter, on E2E Day 5 route, time 1:45:53, 28.44 km, 16.12 average.

Keri Jenner Sat overlooking Oban harbour having lunch... It's actually stopped raining!! For now! Forgot to say we saw a pine Martin yesterday.. Awesome as ran out on path in front of us!

Jenner's Expedition Cycling along the lochs is lovely. Even better by boat I expect. Next time the adventure will be by Bike, Boat & train. We could have sat back with a G&T & enjoyed the trip through the lochs. We organised this thing?

Jenner's Expedition Yesterday we saw lots of poor folk walking the caledonain canal, don't do it. It's fairly boring on a bike. Just purgatory if you are walking. They looked suspiciously like DofE groups, if they were there trainers/assessors should be shot, or even worse, made to walk it.

Jenner's Expedition Road nice & easy this morning. Running along the coast, with fleeting glimpses of the sea, islands & lots of mist. Very atmospheric & Scotish. So nice, but wet!

Jenner's Expedition The B&B last night was lovely. Incredibly grand. 1 of 4 houses built for some lady. You can't believe the wealth of some people. We talking proper mansion size house.

Keri Jenner To say it's wet is an understatement! I'm wet from the outside due to rain, and wet from the inside as sweating... Lovely!!! But now in a nice warm and dry cafe on my daily cake binge!!!

Jenner's Expedition Started ride with Cyclemeter at 08:55, on E2E Day 4 route, see http://j.mp/aGf5sq, Cyclemeter will speak your messages and comments to me.

Jenner's Expedition
Not long ago, had huge dinner, thinking of huge breakfast already.
Eaten all the yummy shortbread in the room.
Computer reckons we've burnt 3643 calories on top of our normal calorie requirement.
Been eating steadily all day!

Jenner's Expedition The place is a Whisky establishment of distinction. 1 of only 20 in the world. They've got over 400 whiskys of distinction. Many from distilleries that have closed, or years of distinction, off famous boats that have sunk. Etc etc people from all over the world come here to sample there fare & I don't like whisky! Got a taste for Glayva though

Jenner's Expedition I just been chatting to tonights B&B host.

Jenner's Expedition Asked the B&B owner this morning whether the bird of pray photo on the wall was a Golden Eagle, the conversation then went onto the birds we had seen. He asked "did it look like a flying door" as Golden Eagles do! Unfortunately no!

Jenner's Expedition Had a nice chat with a local farmer last night. Tim. Over a Dram of two/several. The winter was so severe here he did not manage to see part of his flock for 3 months, up on one of the high pastures. That's what you call hill sheep!

outside a cafe, 142m of 393m, gaining some courage to climb our 1st

riders necking a red bull in the caffe before a big climb

Jenner's Expedition Got a 2nd battery skin when cycling through Inverness, the iPhone has not been lasting the day

Jenner's Expedition It's a bit chilly cycling along the loch this morning in damp clothes. Washed my cycle kit last night. The engine will soon dry them out this morning

Jenner's Expedition had the most amazing meal on the shores of Loch Ness last night. Sun, views to die for. Unfortunately the prawns gave Keri food poisoning, so she's not so hot today. She's got 12 miles of gentle cycling before a 450m climb

Jenner's Expedition
I hope your
getting your bike ready, we are comming your way, & we expect you to
join us on the road. It's the only way you can have a clear conscience
when you come down the pub with us ;-)
See you soon John & Keri

Keri Jenner Just had a huge dinner (prawns in a creamy garlic sauce with rice and bread and butter pud with custard) so should be stuffed but thinking about breakfast already ;-)

Keri Jenner Well... Sat in a pub on shore of loch ness.. Awesome food, drink and company from holland! And the sun is out!!!!!

Jenner's Expedition Ticking along through some flat land. No sea or lock in site. Scots pine forest to our left & rolling pastures to our right. It could be Devon except the rolling hill tops are forested moorland. It's a bit like a sorbe in a meal preparing us for the next ooooo

The

owned it & so the train line was duly built to his hotel.
A lovely place

Jenner's Expedition Unfortunately the ferry's. Closed, so we are going to follow Sustran's route 1 to Inverness, up over the hill out of Tain. Dornoch was lovely & well worth a detour. If we were whiskey lovers we could go Tain's brewery Glenmoragy, were not. But I am sold on that whisky liquor I tried in John O'Groats, could be the thin end of the wedge!

Jenner's Expedition Just grabbing an early lunch in Tain, not the prettiest place. Although the coast road before we joined the A9 was.

Jenner's Expedition Just had our fill of wild Raspberries, just loads on the side of this picturess lane, the widest views you can imagine out to sea

Jenner's Expedition Stood watching a huge colony of seals, 50m away, sleeping on a sand bank. 85 ish. Just lovely, wide sandy loch with the mountains in the background & a minor flat road hugging the coast

Jenner's Expedition
Cracking nights sleep, after an awesome Indian last night.

Jenner's Expedition It's been a bit of a slog this morning, light rain, a reasonable head wind & rather boring flat countryside. Jenner's Expedition
The hotel has 130 different malt whisky's to choose from. & I don't like whisky!
But
I am torn between 'Glaya' a unique blend of whisky, honey & spice
or 'heather cream liqueur'. I think it will be the 1st or maybe both,
that's not to mention the garlic coffees on offer!

6 bike places from Exeter to London.
6 bike places available from London to Inverness.
6 bike places available from Inverness to Wick.
You have to book your bike places months & months in Advance.
...Loads of people trying to get bikes on the trains......
Obviously nobody considered putting a luggage van on to meet the demand & make some money!

Jenner's Expedition On the local train unto Wick. It winds & meanders it's way along locks, the coast & valleys. Seen some oil rigs being constructed in the lock & a monster support boat, moored in a tiny village. Oo and a huge distillery

You know, those small yummy chocolate things!! So today we had one beast of a hill, calculated tobe at least a 10 minstrel hill.. I lost count when I got to 7 and rounded a co...rner to see an even steeper incline which resulted in my front wheel bouncing off the road!

Jenner's Expedition Enjoying a break at Jacob's Ladder, Sidmouth. Will we do enough miles to burn off those cakes?
